In recognition of SWWD Board Manager Brian Johnson, the City of Woodbury recognizes April 8th as Brian Johnson Day.
Brian Johnson has served on the SWWD Board of Managers as a representative for Woodbury for 21 years, and the last 4 years as Board President. After over two decades, Mr. Johnson will retire from his tenure on the SWWD Board of Managers on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025.
Since Mr. Johnson joined the SWWD Board of Managers in 2004, he has played a central role in several high-impact SWWD projects that have positively impacted the quality of surface water and groundwater in Woodbury and the greater South Washington Watershed District.
Most notably, Mr. Johnson played a key role in developing the Central District Overflow System, a project that concluded in 2020, to reduce flooding risk and protect nearby residents. As a representative for Woodbury, Mr. Johnson’s work has also contributed to improvements at Hasenbank Stormwater Park, Kargel Parks Stormwater Facilities, the new Alum Treatment Facility at Wilmes Lake, and the Woodbury Enhanced Street Sweeping Plan.
