Make a difference, Adopt-a-Drain
Launched in 2014 by Hamline University, the Adopt-a-Drain program has created a way for community members to directly support water quality in their neighborhood. When you adopt a storm drain, you become an active part of pollution prevention in our local water bodies and a network of citizen scientists.
To get started, first sign up online and select an available drain in your area, like in your neighborhood or other areas you frequent. Keep your drain clear of leaves, trash, and other debris and track your totals online. From there, all it takes is 15 minutes, twice a month, for cleaner waterways and healthier communities.
