Watershed Management Plan

The 10-year watershed management plan guides how the District will manage activities in the watershed during the lifecycle of the plan. The plan also meets Minnesota Statutes 103B and 103D, and Minnesota Rules 8410 requirements, which govern our actions.

Watershed Management Plan

The South Washington Watershed District’s current Watershed Management Plan (WMP) was approved by the Board of Water and Soil Resources on September 23rd, 2026, and adopted by the SWWD Board of Managers on October 13th, 2026. The WMP is intended to serve a wide audience by providing broad easy to understand overview of the issues facing the watershed, and the programs that will that will implement goals.
